A new Possum on the farm- Markers in my sketchbook

As autumn comes to a close and winter makes its way in we’ve noticed our barn cat food bowl has been empty more often than usual. A mystery was a foot and Paisley and I wanted to get to the bottom of it. With the help of our trusty lead detective badger, we discovered we had a friendly neighborhood opossum hanging out with the cats.

Upon discovery, we’ve named the oppossum “John Mulaney” cause he’s new in town. (Check our John Mulaney’s stand up specials on netflix it’s great.

Here are a few drawings I’ve done of the oppossum in my sketchbook. I didn’t quite get it right the first few times, but with the power of reference I was able to get a closer likeness.

For these drawings, I’m starting with a straight Pentel v5 ink pen sketch with some dick blick/prismacolor markers for the colors.

We don’t mind the oppossum coming around to hang out, but we do bring the cat food in at night now to make sure John Mulaney doesn’t eat us out of house and home.
