D&D Portrait Commission
In early February I was commissioned to make a character portrait of a beloved Husband’s D&D character.
Wanting to see how I could use it for more work, I started with a series of digital sketches on my ipad. Digital sketches are great for traditional commissions because it allows easy revisions based on the clients needs.
Once she was pleased with the digital sketch, I cleaned the lines and printed the pencil lines onto 300lb Hot Press Paper. Hot Press is my go to for illustrations like these, as there are no large washes like in environment paintings. The Hot Press absorbs the paint much faster (Or at least it feels that way) resulting in a well controlled piece.
Below you can see some of the process
Thanks,
Ethan
